A BURNLEY schoolboy has received an award for his contribution to cricket.
Harry Spark, 10, has become the first member of the Burnley District Cricket team to be presented with the Craig Heaton' memorial trophy.
The trophy is presented annually in memory of Burnley schoolboy Craig Heaton, after his parents presented it to the Thompson centre in his memory 18 years ago.
When the Thompson Centre closed it was decided the trophy began should be presented to the most improved player in the district team, and this year it is Harry, of Higham Primary School.
The district teams are made up of young players from the cricket clubs with in the Burnley and Padiham area.
Harry plays for Burnley CC and the district under 11s, who are working hard preparing for the oncoming season at Burnley's Spirit of Sport.
