A WOMAN who wants to leave the area and go "cold turkey" to kick drugs got a six month supervision order from magistrates.

The Burnley bench heard how "troubled" Tracey Naomi Sullivan, 45, did not want to go on a methadone programme as it would bring her into contact with other addicts.

Sullivan, said to have health problems as well, was a prisoner in her own home, was scared, damaged and timid and had only her dog for company, the court heard.

The defendant, of Westmorland Street, admitted possessing heroin.

The bench chairman told her: "Take advantage of the expertise of the probation service."
