A CONSERVATIVE MP has said he would like to strengthen ties with Vietnam.
Nigel Evans, MP for the Ribble Valley and vice-chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, met Viet-namese prime minister Nguyen Tan Dung during a meeting with the All Party Parliamentary Group for Vietnam.
Mr Evans said: "I look forward to us strengthening ties between the two countries, particularly during the visit of Vietnamese politicians to London next month.
"I am aware that in the past decade, Vietnam has lifted more people out of poverty than any other country and for that I congratulate it."
