Police seized an e-scooter after witnessing the rider hit speeds of 50mph through a quiet town.
At midday on Thursday, officers in Rossendale stopped the man after he was seen bombing down Market Street in Whitworth at almost twice the speed limit.
Police said that not only was the riding of the e-scooter illegal on a public road, but the rider was putting himself and others at risk travelling at those eye watering speeds.
A spokesperson for the police said on Thursday: "Another e-scooter seized.
"At 12pm today the male riding this scooter decided to drive along Market Street in Whitworth hitting speeds of 50mph, putting himself and other road users at risk.
"E-Scooters are only legal on private land or from government hire schemes."
