Blackburn Empire Theatre is set to ‘Come Alive’ this weekend as Katrina’s Dance Academy stage their annual show.

The Greatest Show promises to be a "spectacle of dance, drama and musical theatre performances" - with added acrobatic arts.

Academy principal Katrina Baldwin recently qualified as an acrobatic arts instructor, expanding the range of dance styles she can offer to her students.

Katrina said: “My acrobatic arts training was unfortunately postponed for two years due to the Covid pandemic, but earlier this year I completed my training in this unique style of performance."

Katrina’s Dance Academy now offers three different levels of acro dance class, in addition to ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre and drama classes to students from just two years old.

Young acro dancers will show off their new skills in colourful numbers to well-known tracks from 2017 blockbuster film ‘The Greatest Show’.

Katrina added: “I’m so excited to see the girls on stage performing their new acro skills.

"Our academy is blessed to have so many talented young performers, who work hard week in, week out and are bursting to showcase their skills on stage this weekend.

"It really will be The Greatest Show!"

Three performances of ‘The Greatest Show’ take place this weekend at Blackburn Empire Theatre – at 7pm on Friday, July 8, and at 1pm and 7pm on Saturday 9.

Tickets are still available from the theatre box office or online at the Blackburn Empire website, priced at £12 for adults and £10 concessions.
