Reality television star Charlotte Dawson has paid tribute to her late father, Les Dawson, after paying a visit to his memorial statue in Lytham St Annes.
The Ex On The Beach star paid a visit earlier this month said she “loves coming to the statue”, sharing some adorable snaps of herself with mum, Tracy, and child, Noah, standing next to it.
Speaking about her visit and her comedian father, who died in 1993, she said: “Well another year done.. I’d love to say it gets easier but I really don’t think it does - I can’t believe it’s going to be 30 years (since you have been gone) next year.
“I just love coming to your statue and seeing you I feel like I can breathe and gives me some sense of peace… knowing we can come and snuggle you makes me feel so much better.”
Charlotte said her son is a “little character” just like his grandfather.
She said: “I just loved seeing how different Noah was from last year. He was running round everywhere we had to bribe him with milky buttons to do pictures.
“He even did my dad’s face, he’s such a little character like my dad.
“We ended our lovely day with our favourite meal… chippy.
“Noah had a bloody ball sat with you at the chip shop with your picture up. I love you mama Tracy Dawson, dad would be so proud of you.”
The statue was created by sculptor Graham Ibbeson and unveiled on the north promenade back in 2008.
It was built to commemorate the life of the legendary comic who died of a heart attack on June 11 1993.
While he was born in Manchester, he spent several years living on the Fylde and famously lampooned his beloved home in his routines, saying: "As you might know, I live in Lytham St Annes where it’s so posh that when we eat cod and chips we wear a yachting cap."
Charlotte was just six-months-old when her father died.
