A climber who fell 70 feet in a quarry is "critical, but stable" in hospital.
Bolton Mountain Rescue Team was called to Anglezarke Quarry at Rivington on Sunday afternoon after the emergency services were alerted by other climbers.
It is thought Christopher Walsh, aged 43, from Liverpool, fell from the top of the quarry.
He was found near the bottom with multiple head and chest injuries.
Members from Bolton Mountain Rescue Team climbed down with paramedics to lift Mr Walsh to safety.
He was flown by the North West Air Ambulance to Blackburn Hospital where he was in a critical but stable condition last night.
