PENDLE'S fourth annual beer festival showcasing real ales will take place at the Colne Muni.

The nautical' themed festival, which runs from Thursday, January 31, to Saturday, February 2, will have more than 60 real ales and ciders.

Around half the beers at the festival, organised by CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), will come from breweries with a nautical connection - this includes beers with names like "Sea of Tranquillity" or "Hidden Treasure".

Those sponsoring beer barrels, at £40 each, will get two tickets for every day of the festival (subject to hall capacity), two pints of any featured beer (subject to availability) and the sponsor's details on the beer barrel and on a "Roll of Honour" in the Beer Festival Programme.

All proceeds will go to Pendleside Hospice. Anyone interested in sponsoring the barrels should call 01282 410103 or e-mail christina.cope@pendleside.org.uk.
