ABOUT 30 brave swimmers took the plunge at Lee Dam, Lumbutts, Todmorden, yesterday.
The icy water was no deterrent for those taking part in the annual event which has been going since 1960.
Each New Year, swimmers compete to retrieve wooden cups that are thrown in to the lake watched by more than a hundred spectators.
The event is organised by Todmorden Swimming Club.
