TOOLS worth over £3000 were recovered yesterday after being stolen from a shed that was broken into.

Police in the Ribble Valley was first alerted to the stolen DIY tools after staff at the Beacon Fell View Holiday Park in Longridge discovered them on site.

The staff then alerted officers who were able to return to tools to their rightful owner, who called them just 24 hours after the initial theft to tell them that his shed had been broken into.

A police spokesperson said: "Officers in Longridge noticed this job coming in and were able to contact the owner who described his tools in detail.

"Thankfully we were able to return them just 24 hours after the initial theft, the tools totalling over £3,000.

"We have had no other reports of thefts but please can I ask you to check your sheds and outbuildings and make sure everything is secure to prevent any further offences."
