A TEENAGER who filmed himself driving at more than 120mph on the M65 has warned others not to follow his example.

Earlier this year, apprentice motor mechanic Nathan Campbell bragged about his antics when his mobile phone clips were uploaded onto the video website YouTube.

But he was later jailed for four months, banned for three years and ordered to take an extended re-test after admitting dangerous driving, on Sunday, May 13.

Campbell, 18, of Fenwick Street, Burnley, appeared on ITV's Tonight with Trevor McDonald tonight as part on an investigation into the growing phenomenon of boy racers filming themselves on the internet and causing road chaos.

Campbell said: "Don't do it. You can go to jail and lose your job and lose everything. Just think about what you have got."

The teenager, who filmed himself at the wheel of his father's Toyota MR2 travelling between Colne and Blackburn, tried to explain his motivation behind the stunt.

He said: "It sounds a lot more dangerous than it was. A lot of things could have happened but it was a straight road.

"I was stupid. I just did it because I could.

"Its all over YouTube. There's lots of them (video clips filmed inside speeding cars).

"I had the power to do it. I thought everyone else is doing it, so why not?"

A professional racing driver who analysed Campbell's driving for the show said he lacked basic technique and would kill either himslef or somebody else unless he improved his driving and slowed down.

Campbell was prosecuted after an off-duty saw the MR2 using the hard shoulder to undertake.

The red car came back onto the motorway causing another vehicle to serve to avoid it, and veered across the motorway performing several other undertaking manoeuvres.
