A MAN who walked out of Royal Blackburn Hospital was found dead in a nearby field a week later.
An inquest in Blackburn heard that Joseph Edwin Farrow, 64, of Wordsworth Road, Accrington, was being treated for pneumonia and an alcohol-related condition.
On Wednesday August 29 he went missing from the hospital and was reported as a missing person to the police. His body was found in a field adjacent to the Observatory Public House, Haslingden Road, on Wednesday, September 5.
A post-mortem examination has taken place and further toxicology tests are required.
