A MUM desperate to find a husband for her daughter has taken her ‘man-hunting’ in her home country of Nigeria.

Finding a man can be tough at the best of times, never mind if you’re AJ Odudu, who has a busy schedule full of TV appearances and modelling gigs.

The social-media sensation, born and bred in Blackburn, has spent the past 10 years carving out a career in London but admits that over the past few years she has felt a man-shaped ‘hole in her life’.

In a one-off documentary which aired on Channel 4 on Tuesday night, cameras followed AJ, 30, as she travels with her mother, Florence, from Blackburn to Nigeria.

Speaking about the prospect of finding love, the presenter said: “When I was growing up, I genuinely thought I’d be married with five kids by the age of 30.

“I was born and bred in Blackburn but now I’m living my dream in London, earning my crust as a TV host.

“But for all my humble success, if I’m honest, there’s a big hole in my life.

“I feel like I can’t fully celebrate my achievements because I’ve not achieved love.”

Thirty and Ready to settle down, AJ decided to enlist the help of her no-nonsense but fun-loving mother to help her find a man.

Drawing on the Nigerian tradition of parents arranging partners for their children, mother and daughter embarked on a road trip around the country, with potential suitors including Nigerian film star Timini, a besotted Prince Joshua, 34-year-old churchgoer KC and musician Isaac.

By the time she met the third man, it was becoming clear that AJ couldn’t get on-board with the ‘old-fashioned’ role a woman was depicted as playing in Nigerian society.

She said: “I can’t fathom having a man being the head of my home.

“But it could just be that my ego is too big for the guys out here.”

But Timini, an actor from Lagos, was determined to change her perception of Nigerian men.
