A MAN was taken to hospital after falling through the roof of a building.
Emergency services were called to an incident involving a man who has fallen through the roof of Balmers GM Ltd, on Manchester Road near Clow Bridge, Burnley shortly before 11am on Friday.
The man, who is thought to be in his 30s, was later airlifted to Royal Manchester Hospital.
A police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a man who fell through a roof at Manchester Road at 11am.
"HSE executives have been notified."
An ambulance spokesman said: "We were called at 10.46am on Friday to reports someone had fallen through a roof on Manchester Road.
"We sent an air ambulance and two senior medics to the scene and the patient was taken to hospital."
An investigation into the incident has been launched by Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
A HSE spokespman said: “HSE is aware of the incident and is investigating.
"As the investigation is ongoing we are unable to comment further at this time.”
Balmers GM Ltd has declined to comment.
