A RAFT of Blackburn with Darwen Council-owned properties will go under the hammer next month.

The council is preparing to sell off a number of assets in a Pugh Auctions sale at AJ Bell Stadium in Salford on September 6.

Land At Hollin Bridge Street, formerly used as a car park for 10 cars, is among the council-owned lots listed for sale.

The 0.25-acre site, which is accessed from Stancliffe Street and Bolton Road,  is expected to fetch £40,000.

Also up for sale is land and buildings off cemetery road in Darwen.

The 1.31-acre freehold parcel of land, which includes a single storey brick built storage building awith driveway access plus six residential garage plots, is listed at a guide price of £75,000.

Land near Darwen St James CE Primary School and Darwen train station is also up for grabs at a guide price of £15,000.

The freehold gated and fenced site, which has previously been used a storage yard, is offered with vacant possession.

The two remaining sites set to go under the hammer are 0.3 acres of land off Quaker Lane in Darwen and a former residential care home at Dunoon Drive, Shadworth.

The Quaker Lane plot is expected to sell for about £25,000 while the Dunoon Drive property is listed at £120,000.
