FOOTBALL fans are busy looking for the best seat in the house as the England players prepare for the biggest game of their lives... so far.

Supporters can watch Tuesday's crunch round-of-16 Colombia game on a huge £100k screen, a pub with its own England team roundabout or from outside a town hall.

Fans have been turning out in force at the Havelock Inn in Blackburn to watch games on the pub’s huge outdoor screen, which has been put up for every England game in the pub’s car park.

More than 1,000 people have watched England’s World Cup campaign at the Havelock Street pub, which has been screened on a 20ft LED screen.

Landlord Darren Heggie, 39, of Mill Hill, along with his business partner Chris Dulworth, 54, from Roe Lee, hired the £100,000 screen from Mr Dulworth’s nephew solely for the England games.

Mr Heggie said the crowd’s attendance will be the biggest yet if England get through to Saturday’s quarter-final.

He said: “If we win tomorrow’s match we are expecting a huge attendance for Saturday’s quarter-final.

“The atmosphere has been brilliant up to now and we are sure it will be again tonight.”

The England match will also be shown on Blackburn with Darwen Council’s advertising screen outside the town hall.

Cllr Andy Kay said: “It has been terrific so far. People have really enjoyed it and I hope there will be big crowds again tomorrow.

“It’s great we can put England matches on in the town centre.”

Fans have also been backing the team at the Craven Heifer in Darwen, where one mystery local has even given the roundabout outside the pub a St George's flag makeover.

Landlord Dan Sumner, 33, from Darwen, added: “We have four screens to watch the game.

“The matches have been fantastic and a really good atmosphere. We'll be busy again tonight.”

And Rovers fan Paul Clegg, who has been following England’s exploits out in Russia, has even managed to bag himself a ticket to the big game.
