A COLLEGE will host a new gin and beer festival next month.

Dozens of different gins and beers will be sold at Burnley’s first Lancashire Gin and Beer Festival in July at Burnley College.

There will be some live entertainment, music, Caribbean food and the opportunity to sample a range of gin and real ale.

Some of the gin and beer producers lined up for the event include Batch Gin, Harrogate Tipple, Northern Whisper and Cuckoo Gin, Irwell Brewery, Ginception and Oscars Brewery.

Ashley Alderson of Fitness Evolution, a fitness centre at the college, and organiser of the festival, said: “We’re really excited about the gin and beer festival and are hoping that it will be the first of many to come here at Fitness Evolution.

“In East Lancashire we have some of the finest producers of craft gin and beer in the UK, including the world-famous Batch Gin, voted the nation’s favourite gin last year, so it’s only natural that we should celebrate.”

The two-day event will be held at the Princess Way college on Friday, July 6 from 5pm to 11pm and Saturday, July 7 from 11am to 5pm and 6pm to 11pm.

Tickets, which are priced at £20 each, include entry to the festival, three drinks - gin and mixer or beer - and a souvenir glass.
