A WOMAN has been rescued from a reservoir.
Police and fire crews were called to Fishmoor Reservoir in Roman Road, Blackburn, shortly before 8pm yesterday after a member of the public reporter a woman was in the water.
A fire service spokesman said the woman was seen up to her neck in the reservoir.
He said: "She was making her way further into the middle of the reservoir and refusing help from members of the public.
"A crew was on the way with a boat when they got the message that police officers had rescued her.
"She was given first aid by firefighters before paramedics arrived and took her to hospital."
A police spokesman said: "We were called to Fishmore Reservoir at 7.45pm yesterday. A member of the public reported a woman was in the water.
"The woman was brought to safety and received first aid before being taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital by ambulance.
"The fire service and ambulance service also attended the incident."
