A SELF-EMPLOYED joiner who had worked all day on Good Friday was breathalysed after going to the pub after work.
Blackburn magistrate heard Drewe Cameron Owens admitted having about seven pints of lager before getting in his car to go and get some food.
Owens, 26, of Harlech Drive, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.
He was ordered to do 100 hours unpaid work, pay £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge and banned from driving for 24 months.
Gareth Price, defending, said Owens had worked hard in the bank holiday to finish fitting a kitchen.
"He rewarded himself with a few beers at the end of the day," said Mr Price.
"Later in the evening, feeling hungry, he made the foolish decision to get in his van and drive."
