A NUMBER of homes were left without water overnight after a burst pipe lead to limited water supplies.
Inspectors and engineers are still working on the leak on Middlesex Avenue in Burnley after excess water was spotted leaking out onto the road.
The burst pipe resulted in residents of the road and surrounding streets having little or no water.
Water pressure is expected to return to normal over the next two hours.
United utilities said: "Due to the size of the burst, our water mains have to fill up again and this may take a little while - possibly up to 2 hours.
"You may notice that you have poor pressure or no water at all for a little while longer and for this we are really sorry.
"Please rest assured that we will work as quickly as we can to restore your supply to normal."
