Education official Atefa Zaman has been named as a new non-executive director for East Lancashire NHS Primary Care Trust.
The 31-year-old, from Pendle, who works for Lancashire County Council, takes on the £7,598 per annum role until the end of May 2010.
A former Walshaw High School pupil and mother-of-one, she will oversee frontline health services for Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley.
