New figures released by the Football Association showed that Rovers spent £764,025 on agents fees between February 2017 and January 2018.

However, this was down by just over £500,000 from the £1,265,403 spent in the previous 12 months.

That was the most of any League One club, with promotion rivals Wigan Athletic splashing out £557,333.

The spend took in to accounts Rovers’ two transfer window so far this term as well as the contract renewals done within that time.

In all, Rovers made payments on 18 deals conducted between February 1 2017 and January 31 2018.

League One clubs spent a total of over £3.3million in fees to agents and intermediaries, with Bury’s spend of £25,169 the lowest in the division.
