A FILMMAKER is asking for parents to donate film footage to be used in a short film for Random Acts North.
Award winning filmmaker Natasha Hawthornthwaite of Darwen based Northern Heart Films announced she will be creating a short documentary for Random Acts North, funded by Arts England, in January.
Ms Hawthornthwaite said the film will utilise the film clips as well as drawing on the experiences of real parents to portray what parenthood is really like, with a focus on empty nest syndrome.
She said: "I'm looking for donations from people who might have home video footage of their kids growing up.
"It could be clips of births, birthdays, first steps, guitar practice -anything.
"I can accept any footage that ranges from 0-18 years.
"The footage can be shot on VHS, DVD or on a mobile phone.
"I only need a couple of clips that they are happy for me to use, I will review all footage, so they don't have to sit through all of it. "The film will only be 3 minutes so I will be being quite selective with the footage I include and I will take the utmost respect with all donated footage."
The deadline for submissions is today.
Ms Hawthornthwaite will collect footage in person or submissions can be sent directly to her at natashahawthornthwaite@gmail.com via wetransfer.com.
