CALLS are being made for volunteers to help out at a refurbished charity shop which is set to reopen.
The Age UK shop in Great Harwood is reopening on Thursday, February 2, after being closed to improve and modernise the store.
The shop features an updated design and lay-out and improved merchandising.
To help get the new shop off to a flying start the charity is not only urging everyone in the area to check it out and bring any donations, but calling for new volunteers.
Lyn Anderson, shop manager at the Queen Street store, said: “We’re very excited about our new shop in Great Harwood, it’s got lots of room for clothes and other goodies.
“We are urging everyone in the area to come and check it out, and also to bring along any donations to the store.
“The shop is reliant on the support of generous volunteers and we are appealing to anyone in the local area who may be able to give up some time to help out.
“Not only will you meet new people and be a key part of the local community, you will also be helping Age UK raise vital funds to support older people.”
The shop will offer a wide range of donated and new items, including clothes, accessories, books and homeware. To volunteer, call 01706 210162.
