A MAN has appeared over video link to Burnley Crown Court accused of wounding a man with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.
The court heard how complainant Robert Townend was left in intensive care for ten days after being stabbed in the liver with a kitchen knife during an incident in the kitchen of a property in Coalclough Lane, Burnley, on November 12.
James Anthony Lynch, 39, of Scarborough Street, Manchester, pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and also denied an alternative charge of unlawful wounding. Lynch also denied assaulting Paul Chappell thereby occasioning him,actual bodily harm.
Lynch was remanded in custody to stand trial at Burnley Crown Court on April 24.
