A MAN who sold counterfeit cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco without the legal health warning has been fined.
Burnley magistrates heard how Humera Zafar, 27, of Halifax Road, Brierfield, committed the offences at Sycamore Stores, Anglesey Avenue, Burnley, on April 13.
The court was told that inspectors found seven packets of counterfeit Richmond cigarettes and 11 packets of counterfeit Amber Leaf hand rolling tobacco.
The Amber Leaf hand rolling tobacco also didn’t display the legally-required health warning.
The shop was also displaying tobacco products in the form of blunts contrary to the Tobacco Advertising and Promotion Act.
Zafar pleaded guilty to two counts of selling counterfeit cigarettes, one of selling tobacco without a combined health warning and one of displaying tobacco products in the form of blunts.
He was fined £250, ordered to pay of £1,085 prosecution costs and a £30 surcharge to fund victim services.
