PENDLE MP Gordon Prentice has called for more investment in flood prevention after Earby was left under water again earlier this month.
He said: "I know that many people have cause to be thankful for the swift response of all the agencies involved during the flood in Earby at the beginning of this month, but there are historic problems, resulting in surface water sewers backing up and discharging through the highway gullies, particularly in Water Street.
"Graham Dixon, Environmental Business Director at Yorkshire Water, has told me that the sewer issues will be dealt with within the priority process.
"I shall be pressing for the necessary improvements to be carried out as soon as possible."
He said that given the "unprecedented" rainfall across the UK this summer, extra resources should be put into flood defence for the future.
