Hundreds of pounds worth of diesel was stolen from an articulated lorry.
Police said £300 worth of diesel was pumped from the wagon, which was parked in Billington Road, Burnley.
Four or five white men aged around 25 were seen at the scene of the theft.
One was described as 6ft tall with a skinhead and another was 5ft 8in of average build.
