DETECTIVES have issued a witness appeal after a 17-year-old boy suffered a fractured skull after being attacked outside a Burnley nightclub.
Police said the altercation happened outside Vogue in Hammerton Street at around 7am on Sunday.
The teenager was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment and remains in a serious condition.
The teenager’s attacker left the scene before officers arrived. No-one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
It is not thought a weapon was used during the attack.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and urging anyone with information to come forward.
Det Con David Gill said: “An investigation is underway following a wounding in Burnley.
“A 17-year-old boy has suffered a fractured skull and remains in hospital undergoing treatment.
“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or can assist with our enquiries.”
