A COMMUNITY Centre have been nominated to receive funding.

Haslingden Community Link has been nominated to receive the Aviva Community Fund which will finance 500 different projects throughout the UK.

The awards enables the public to nominate and vote for projects they feel would benefit from the funding.

The community centre said they will use the funding to set up and run a month dementia support group.

The Rossendale Dementia Hub will provide information and give practical support for those living with, or caring for, somebody with Dementia.

Each meeting will include a short talk on a topic or issue relevant to those living with Dementia.

Service providers, as well as other experts and special guests will deliver talks and help create a sense of community for people who find themselves coping with Dementia related problems.

The Rossendale Dementia Hub will source information and guidance from a number of agencies including health and care organisations, financial and legal advisors, therapists and social services

They will also utilise local and county council services as well as local NHS resources.
