FIRE crews were called to a log burner fire.
Two pumps from Hyndburn attended a house in Whalley Road, Accrington at around 10pm after the burner set fire to a wall in the attic room of a property.
Firefighters said they believe the fire started after the flue pipe, what had not been swept for several years, overheated and set fire to the cavity wall.
Crews attended the fire for one hour where no one was injured.
Hyndburn crew manager Stephen Horrocks said: "It was lucky for the occupant of the room that they notice before they went to bed.
"Had they fallen asleep the fire could have been much more serious.
"It is important to make sure chimneys are being swept, especially at this time of year when people are starting to light fires."
