BLACKBURN with Darwen Council Roads department have issued a warning to residents about the wet weather.
On their Facebook page they posted: "The weather for Tuesday October 24 is looking potentially very wet with a current reasonable worst case forecast of up to 50mm of rain over 24 hours but with intense periods of localised rainfall within that total (up to 40mm in 6 hours).
"This could lead to localised impacts.
"At this stage the forecast contains a fair amount of uncertainty about both the rainfall totals and where it will fall.
"Although the flood guidance statement is still green (very low risk of flooding) we felt it was appropriate to share our concerns with you so that you can consider your preparedness.
"The Environment Agency is taking a precautionary approach to this forecast including putting in place extra staff resource overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday."
