A 16-YEAR-OLD has been charged with racially aggravated assault after an attack in Blackburn's Witton Park.
Cab driver Jangeer Ahmed, 50, was filmed holding off several alleged attackers as passersby tried to intervene last Thursday.
Two joggers attempted to intervene during the incident.
It was alleged a taxi was damaged and the cab driver was assaulted and racially abused.
A police spokesman said: "Following extensive enquiries by police a 16-year-old boy from Blackburn has been charged with racially aggravated common assault and racially aggravated criminal damage.
"He has been bailed to appear at Blackburn Youth Court on September 25.
"Thanks to everyone in the community who has assisted with our enquiries."
