RESIDENTS of a Rossendale care home are planning an evening of entertainment, thanks to a generous donation by the town’s Deputy Mayor.
Madeline de Souza kindly donated money raised during her time in office to residents of Whitworth Care’s Sunnyside Rest Home.
She was keen that the donation was spent on something that would directly benefit those living in the Coupland Close complex.
Following a meeting, it was decided that they would enjoy a celebration evening together with their favourite local singer and a buffet tea.
Karen Henderson, Head of Care and Support, said:“The donation from the Deputy Mayor was incredibly generous. The residents are really looking forward to an evening of song and celebration, and we cannot thank Madeline enough.”
