A MAN trying to hide from police put both feet in it.
Blackburn magistrates heard officers who believed Connor Yates was at his girlfriend's house in breach of bail conditions conducted a search of the house.
And they reported seeing "a pair of odd socks with feet in them sticking out from under the bed."
"They told the person attached to the feet to come out and that was Connor Yates," said Parveen Akhtar, prosecuting.
Yates, 23, of Albert Street, Clayton-le-Moors, pleaded guilty to breaching bail conditions. He was re-bailed until he stands trial on August 25 on a charge of assaulting Jodie Townsend.
Paul Huxley, defending, said Miss Townsend had made no complaint and had not co-operated with the police.
"As you have heard his attempt to hide was not the cleverest," said Mr Huxley.
