A 29-YEAR OLD man who was caught red-handed after breaking into a shed at Burnley Cricket Club broke into a garage just five days after being given a suspended prison sentence.

Blackburn magistrates heard the owner of the garage confronted Christian Carl Wheadon and took photographs of him which enabled police to identify him.

Wheadon, 29, of Belvedere Road, Burnley, pleaded guilty to burglary at a garage in Todmorden Road, Burnley.

He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison for the offence and a further 12 weeks was imposed for breaching the suspended sentence order.

Mark Williams, defending, said his client had battled a drug addiction and the mental health problems that stem from it for many years.

"He accepts that of late the drugs have been getting the better of him," said Mr Williams. "The first thing he said when he was challenged by the garage owner was that he was sorry."
