ANDY Burnham, the new Mayor of Greater Manchester, today attended a vigil for the victims of the London terrorist attack at St James Church in Accrington.
He took a break from campaigning in Hyndburn with Labour candidate Graham Jones to take part the minute’s silence at 11am.
His visit follows Mr Burnham leading the city’s to the Manchester Arena bombing of May 22.
He and Mr Jones visited Accrington Market and Northern Housing before walk round the town centre.

They then met Shadow Health Secretary Jon Ashworth, Shadow Health Minister at Acrrington station.
Labour front-bencher Mr Ashworth and Mr Jones then visited Baxenden Pharmacy and Accrington Victoria Hospital’s Walk in Centre.
Yesterday Greg Clarke, Secretary of State for Business, was in Hyndburn campaigning with the constituency’s Conservative candidate Kevin Horkin.
He set out the benefits for East Lancashire in the post Brexit era of a ‘Prosperity Fund’, which Prime Minister Theresa May proposes to set up to help restore the imbalance of investment in the regions of the UK after Brexit.
