HEAVY traffic on the M66, following a crash involving an overturned vehicle, is causing serious delays to motorists heading into East Lancashire.
Police say a car has ended up on its roof between junctions three and four, near Bury, leading to two lanes being closed down.
Traffic is tailing back to the M60 and causing major hold-ups to drivers heading for the A56 for Rawtenstall, Haslingden and Accrington.
Emergency services initially placed a temporary block on the road, to deal with the incident, but this was lifted at around 7.30am.
