BT has announced plans to recruit 52 new staff in Accrington as part of a national recruitment drive.
The jobs will be mainly sales roles in BT customer service with recruiters keen to attract applicants from the town.
The plans are the latest phase in a major initiative by BT’s consumer division to answer 90 per cent of calls in the UK and Ireland.
Since its last recruitment drive in April last year, more than 75 contact centre posts have been filled at the contact centre in Globe Way Accrington.
Mike Blackburn, chairman of BT’s North West regional board, said: “We have been impressed with the high quality of our Accrington recruits.
“They show great enthusiasm and a determination to provide customers with a first class service.”
The company employees nearly 9,400 people across the North West, with more than 2,200 are in Lancashire.
An open evening will be held at BT’s Accrington contact centre in Globe Way about the jobs on Friday, March 31, from 6pm to 8pm.
