BLACKBURN College and Blackburn Rovers have teamed up to help engage students in volunteer activities, provide them with the opportunity to take part in work placements and get involved in joint community activities.
The college’s corporation board chairman Phil Watson and club director Mike Cheston signed the Memorandum of Understanding to formalise the partnership.
The partnership is hoped to help students develop and gain employment skills, with members of Blackburn Rovers on hand to help the college to develop areas of their sports curriculum.
The college’s business engagement manager Nick Hall said: “The memorandum covers a number of initiatives from projects as part of the National Citizenship Service which will enable students to develop employability skills.
“This initiative would engage students on outward bound type activities with project work.”
