A YOUNG child and a women have managed to escape from a house fire in Blackburn.
The incident happened in Billinge Close at around 1.30pm and two crews attended the blaze in the kitchen.
Firefighters were alerted to the fire by a 999 call by neighbours and used breathing apparatus and hose reels to deal with the incident.

The women suffered from smoke inhalation and the child accompanied her in the ambulance to Royal Blackburn Hospital for precautionary checks.
They were inside the house when the fire started but managed to get outside before firefighters arrived.
A spokesman for the fire service said: “The cause of the fire is to be established but there isn’t anything to suggest that it wasn’t just accidental.”
