A ROSSENDALE medical centre has been taken out of special measures after making improvements, according to a health watchdog.
However the Care Quality Commission (CQC) said Crawshaw Hall Medical Centre and Nursing Home still ‘requires improvement’ after a breach in relation to the safe management of medicines.
The home in Burnley Road, Crawshawbooth was rated ‘good’ for being effective, caring, responsive and well-led. It was rated ‘requires improvement’ for being safe after an unannounced inspection.
The home provides care for up to 50 people including the elderly, those with dementia, mental health issues, physical disabilities and younger adults.
A spokesman for the CQC said: “Whilst improvements in the management of medicines had been made we saw further improvements were required in the safe administration of medicine.”
He said staff were recruited and trained safely, policies and procedures were in place to ensure staff protected people at risk of abuse, people and relatives were happy with the care in the home and people were treated with kindness and spoken to with dignity and respect.
