A WOMEN in her 70s has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Burnley.
The incident happened at around 1pm in Briercliffe Road outside Bromley Insurance Services, close to Burnley General Hospital, and involved a blue Daihatsu Sirion.

Police said the woman went up in the air after being hit by the car and suffered head injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.
A rapid response vehicle and an ambulance were sent to the scene and the woman was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “The patient in her 70s complained of shoulder injuries and had suffered head injuries.”
