A HASLINGDEN man has been remanded in custody by a judge after being found guilty of rape following a trial.
Darren Andrew Sandbach, 36, of Hillside Road, was convicted of the charge by a majority verdict, after a six-day hearing at Burnley Crown Court.
Jurors were told that the sex assault allegation concerned an incident which occurred on New Year’s Day 2016.

Sandbach was found not guilty of a second rape allegation, involving the same woman, in May.
He is scheduled to be sentenced at the same court by Judge Beverley Lunt.
