A 14-YEAR-OLD girl who was ‘romantically involved’ with an older girl was caught on CCTV bullying her partner.

Blackburn magistrates heard the victim was 17 at the time and refused to make a statement to police. She had turned 18 and was now banned from having any contact with the juvenile.

The 14-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to assaulting the other girl. She was made subject to a youth referral order for 10 months.

Passing sentence district judge James Clarke said it was a clear case of bullying.

“It follows hot on the heels of a conviction for assault and was against someone you cared for and who cared for you,” he said. “I am sure you don’t want to go through life labelled as a bully.”

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said CCTV on Blackburn station showed the girls in the waiting room. The 14-year-old forced the other girl onto a chair. She tried to leave but was made to stand against a wall.
