FIREFIGHTERS were called to a "deliberate" fire at a pub in Blackburn.

The fire, which is believed to have been started by teenagers, happened in an outbuilding of The Crescent pub in Bank Lane.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguished the fire, which was contained to an outbuilding behind the pub.

Police also attended the fire, the cause of which is under investigation, and several youths were seen in the vicinity prior to the fire.

Crew manager John Riley said: “Deliberate fires can cost lives. They also put a strain on fire service resources that may be required elsewhere.”

Anyone with information about the fire, which happened at 2.10pm on Sunday, can call police on 101.
