A BURST water main in Rawtenstall created traffic delays this morning.
Water was spotted gushing across the road in the incident on the A681 on Haslingden Road, eastbound near Mount Street close to St Mary's Chambers function and banqueting rooms at around 10.05am.
Andy Carter, United Utilities spokesperson, said they got the first call just after 8am.
Inspectors were on the scene before 9am.
The pipe has been isolated now and engineers working to repair it.
No residents suffered loss of water as they redirected the water supply.
The incident was not weather-related, he added.
