COMMUTERS can expect delays this week due to damage caused by the weekend's flooding.
Roads across East Lancashire have been closed after the rising water damaged the surfaces.
The A671 Burnley Road in Padiham has been shut off because of the water, while the A646 Burnley Road in Cornholme has been closed for emergency repairs between Parkside Road and the A6033.
There are also long delays on the trains between Manchester, Preston and Carlisle because of the flooding damage.
Northern Rail is advising passengers not to travel today in Cumbria, East Lancashire and West Yorkshire, unless the journey is absolutely necessary.
And First TransPennine Express is advising passengers not to travel between Preston and Scotland.
