A 21-YEAR-OLD driver swerved to avoid a dog or a fox which ran in front of his car and hit a wall.
Blackburn magistrates heard Kyle Westwell was badly shaken and went to his grandad’s house.
But when they both returned to the scene the police were there and Westwell was breathalysed.
Westwell, of Warrenside Close, Ramsgreave, admitted driving with excess alcohol. He was banned for 16 months, fined £100 and ordered to pay £150 criminal court charge, £80 costs and £20 victim surcharge. He had a blood alcohol level of 94mcg/100ml. The legal limit is 80.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Westwell had been out earlier in the evening but had not drunk for some time and had no idea he would be over the limit. He said Westwell had lost his job as a car salesman as a result.
