A man attacked his pregnant partner after she went through his text messages and accused him of having an affair.
Burnley Magistrates heard how David Brown, 37, pushed victim Victoria Hey's head to one side and slapped her face once.
Miss Hey was left bruised on her left eye and cheekbone and with a sore face. She and the defendant were now back together.
Brown, of North Street, Colne, admitted assault by beating on March 13.
The defendant, who has 21 previous convictions, was given a six month community order with supervision but the bench made no order for compensation because the couple were reconciled. He must pay £25 costs.
